I'll overwhelm 'serious combatant' Paul - Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

The British boxer is set to fight the American YouTuber in an eight-bout fight which will be streamed in real-time on Netflix.

Briton Anthony Joshua said he will "dominate completely" the American and "defeat" his opponent as the pair confronted each other to build hype for next month's heavyweight fight.

Former two time unified boxing king Joshua faces YouTuber-turned-boxer Paul - in what is, on paper, a mammoth uneven pairing - at Miami's arena on December 19th.

Fighter's Mentality

"I plan to damage his features and hurt his body. I'm here to prove I'm superior," Joshua, 35, said.

"I plan to overwhelm him. That's a fighter's mentality.

"I'm going to seriously aim to cause him pain. That's my goal."

Civil Exchange

In spite of those words, a calm Joshua and internet personality Jake Paul - typically recognized for his showmanship - shared friendly words and remained civil with each other.

Paul instead criticized former Joshua's opponent Francis Ngannou and described him as "a joke" after Ngannou rejected a match opportunity.

Taking Aim at Tyson Fury

Joshua, in the meantime, took aim at British opponent Tyson Fury - and rejected a £1m bet 'The Gypsy King' claims he will make on a Paul win.

"Jake Paul outshines Tyson Fury - he's present here," Joshua stated.

"I acknowledge that."

Legitimate Fighter

In spite of stating he plans to punish Paul, Joshua declined to speak negatively about his rival's pugilistic talent.

"Jake Paul is a serious fighter," he stated.

Paul's History

Paul - who originally gained popularity on the television network - has primarily fought mixed martial artists or past-their-prime fighters since turning professional.

He lost to British fighter Fury in 2023.

Commercial Success

Still, the novice remains one of the sport's biggest commercial attractions, regularly earning huge financial rewards.

Forecast and Confidence

The 28-year-old forecast a knockout win in round four or five and claimed he would prevent the highly-expected Fury-Joshua bout, which is allegedly in the works for two years from now.

"It will be my match with Fury next year," Jake Paul declared.

Size Difference

As both boxers participated in the usual stare-down, with their height and weight contrast clearly visible, it emphasized just how unlikely this complete situation is - and how amazing it is that the fight is really happening.
